Sir Hammerlock Introduces Borderlands 2 – New Trailer

Gearbox Software published their latest Borderlands 2 trailer video this morning – “Borderlands 2: An Introduction By Sir Hammerlock.”

Sir Hammerlock, legendary hunter, scholar and gentleman of Pandora, narrates our longest visit to Borderlands 2 to date.   The trailer provides a  fairly detailed introduction to the new regions, character types, and weapons of Borderlands 2.

Yet another brilliant job by Gearbox of whetting our appetites for the looming release of Borderlands 2, scheduled to hit shelves on September 18th in North America and September 21st internationally.

For more information, check out the official Borderlands 2 webpage here, or click the picture below to link to the Borderlands 2 pre-order page.

Old School vs. New School – Who Wins? New Freddie Wong video.

Wow this new Freddie Wong aka freddiew video is fantastic on so many levels.  Check out what happens when Old School video games meet up to do battle with the New School.

Keep your eyes (and ears) out for special appearances by your favorite video game characters including Lara Croft played by the lovely Leeanna Vamp and featuring geek goddess/actor Whitney Avalon as the voice of Cortana.  The sequence featuring TF2’s Scout, played by Clinton Jones, was freakin’ amazing.

See this and more of Freddie Wong & Co.’s work on Freddie’s YouTube Channel and his website Rocket Jump.

Thanks to Whitney Avalon for tweeting out a heads-up on this new freddiew goodness!

Borderlands 2 – Arms Manufacturer Trailers; What Do You Carry?

Borderlands 2 by Gearbox Software

Vladoff? Maliwan? Tediore?  Which weapons developer makes your favorite guns to carry while trekking the wastelands of Pandora in search of loot?

Gearbox Software recently released some clever “commercials” from each of the Borderlands gun manufacturers; you’ll instantly recognize the theme and art-style of your favorites.

These are another part of the pre-release, not-overly-guerrilla, marketing campaign for Gearbox’s upcoming game Borderlands 2, which we previously posted about here.

Here’s our personal favorite – and carry-of-choice – Maliwan:  “Where Form Meets Function.”

You can check out the commercials for Vladoff & Tediore on Gearbox’s YouTube Channel; enjoy!

Skyrim Hearthfire DLC Coming XBOX 360 on September 4th

The good folks at the BethBlog announced this morning that the latest Skyrim DLC, Hearthfire, will be released for the Xbox 360 on September 4th.  Holy homecoming, that’s in just a week!  Xbox 360 players will be able to download Hearthfire from XBox LIVE for 400 Microsoft Points.

According to BethBlog, Hearthfire will provide the player an opportunity to truly put down stakes in the realm of Tamriel, including land-purchases, home-building, and even an expansion of the Skyrim marriage system to allow for the adoption of Tamrelian kids:

With Skyrim’s newest game add-on, Hearthfire, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up – from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter’s workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children.
